Co-Main Event Podcast Episode 85 (1/6/14)

pod_dWith very little in the way of topical MMA news going on this week, the Co-Main Event Podcast once again puts the fate of the show in the hands of you, the listener. Instead of wasting a round talking about UFC: Singapore or whatever, Ben and Chad once again pull off an episode of All Questions Considered. That’s right, this week it’s all listener mail, all the time. From the happenings on last weekend’s Fight Pass-only event, to the potential of Chris Weidman turning heel to the late breaking news concerning Dominick Cruz’s torn groin, it’s all in here. For better and for worse, the listeners plotted this show from start to finish.

Except the middle, when Sir Nigel Longstock stops by to play a little MasterTweet Theatre. All that, plus AYFKM and Just Sayin’ Stuff.

Direct downloaders can listen right here, but only at 6 a.m. and only to a bunch of guys without Wikipedia pages.

  1. Adrian Sol says:

Once again in Master Tweet Theatre, Ben goes with the safe game plan of guessing Phil Baroni and Matt Mitrione, then lays and prays on Chad’s guesses to win by decision. Point fighters are ruining MTT.

    1. Hank says:

      *Slow claps*

      Well done.

  2. gutzmma says:

Usually dont comment been listening since you guys fumbled through your first episode just hand to pause right quick to inform chad he has been immortalized in my mind for the “mma fortnight” comment, truly legendary sir!!

  3. Anpro says:

The only way to determine Sir Nigel’s true identity is to vote him as MMA journalist of the year, then wait to see who accepts the award.

Sir Nigel is MMA’s answer to Jandek.

  4. assassin says:

NFL Europe was disbanded years ago, but I get your point.
BTW, I have no interest in getting FighPath. I’d rather watch WSOF, Boreatore, or any mid-level card on AXS TV or regional card on Comcast.

    1. B. mills says:

That Boreator thing was really stretching it.

      1. assassin says:

Yeah, bit of a low blow. The Viacom influence continues to change their product, and not in a good way. I still watch, on DVR delay, but the seem to have lost their way..

  5. Ruben says:

    Leave Sir Nigel alone!

Seriously, the guy is one of the highlights of the show.

  6. SuperstarPecanbar says:

I am personally offended that anyone would question the hilariousness and value of Sir Nigel Longstock. The man is a legend.
