Co-Main Event Podcast Episode 62 (7/30/13)

New logo 42Online voting did not go as planned last week during the quest to find a winner in the Co-Main Event Podcast music contest. Nobody’s fault, really (except maybe the dudes who wrote up the rules for the contest itself) but in the end Ben and Chad had no choice but to declare the thing a draw. Thing is, though, that could well turn out to be a blessing in disguise, as now the CME has two dope new themes to choose from during the next month or so before going back to the beloved original theme. Anyway, to get the details, you’re going to have to listen to the show. You’ll want to do that anyway, as this week the guys break down the stark contrast between the final two fights on last Saturday’s UFC on Fox broadcast, look ahead to Jose Aldo’s title defense against Chan Sung Jung (that’s the Korean Zombie, you guys) at UFC 163 and wonder when the UFC’s gonna break the news to us that it’s moving its operation to Brazil on a full-time basis.

All that, plus AYFKM and Just Sayin’ Stuff.

“…… before going back to the beloved original theme.”

    thank god.

  2. CTY says:

Giving the win to the song who had votes from people who don’t listen to the podcast is the MMA equivalent of a TRT exemption.

    I’m just saying.

  3. Adrian Sol says:

Don’t blame me, I voted for Somali Pirates.

  4. Warren says:

all i know that song before round 1 was kick ass! real music, not just some dude in front of his computer mixing shit

  5. James in Detroit says:

The Ram haha I hope that catches on

  6. mike s. says:

Thank you, Chad, for pointing out that the broadcast team for the Fox card treated the audience as if they have been following the UFC for the past 10 years! They throw around fighters names and irrelevant stats like they are talking to a group of hard core fans. They need to cater to casual fans during these public broadcasts and treat the audience like a bunch of noobs!

  7. Tom Bowen says:

Jesus Christ that first round music. Some tonal dissonance hittin me in the face there brother.

    1. Warren says:

guess u prefer beeps and boops mad on a computer eh?

  8. t says:

I didn’t love the first song, but the second one was so fucking horrendous I actually came to the website. That song was insanely obnoxious, I beg you to not use some high school pop punk hot garbage as the theme, I BEG you.

  9. John Callaghan says:

It is times like this I am somewhat grateful that I have a vast ignorance of music. I am unable to decipher the quality of any piece of music. In that way I suppose my life has been diminished but not to the point where a Lifetime movie has been made of my disability. But one can hope. So, as you can imagine, I think going to such lengths to jigger the voting results for a fun, and not terribly serious, contest is baffling. I feel a sense of protectiveness, and defensiveness, come over me knowing that interlopers have come to to a place I enjoy and attempted to smear a bit of shit on the walls. I feel bad for those who put in some work to contribute something for the enjoyment of others. I pray these feces spreading alien forces do not ruin Christmas or by god I’ll post another rambling comment that barely has any point at all!

  10. Eli says:

Rory “The Cancer” MacDonald is a hilarously awesome nickname, way better than Ares.

  11. D Dubz says:

Well, if I see some shitbox car going 10 MPH under the speed limit and drifting from one side of their lane to the other, it’s usually some inbred idiot from Idaho, Wyoming or Montana… so there!. There’s a reason you can buy a 4,000 sqft house on 10 acres for 15 grand out there.

    Washington RULES, Montana DROOLS!
