Episode 300! Good thing your dudes didn’t have big plans about how they would spend this milestone episode of the Co-Main Event Podcast, since the MMA world up and went kablammo on Sunday night about 5 p.m. in the OTTZ. So, instead of doing a bunch of navel gazing about how many hours of podcast time they’ve spent sitting across the table from each other, Ben and Chad actually talk MMA. Here, they marvel, near-dumbfounded at Tony Ferguson’s late withdrawal from UFC 223 and his pending lightweight title fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov. Four times they’ve tried to book this fight now and four times it has fallen through. Now we get Nurmy vs. Holloway, though. That’ll be an awesome fight, but one that has far reaching consequences in both the lightweight and featherweight divisions. Aside from all that mess, the guys study the strawweight championship rematch between Rose Namajunas and Joanna Jedrzejczyk, which has been surprisingly drama-free leading up to UFC 223. Knock on wood.
All that, plus AYFKM and JSS.
Direct downloaders can take the side of themselves that still wants to see Ferguson-Nurmagomedov get rebooked, put it into a burlap sack and drown it right here.
